In Cold Blood

Earlier this week, five members of the Hatuel family were murdered by Palestinian terrorists. The four girls and their eight-month pregnant mother were shot at point blank range. The mother was then shot in the stomach.

If any one is interested in understanding the true nature of the Middle East conflict, these murders, along with the scene of a Palestinian mob displaying the flesh of their "martyrs" (see below), are a distillation of the war into its essence, into simple, clear, concrete representations of the root cause of so much death and destruction: the visciousness of Arab culture, its militant contempt for human life.

Needless to say, The Palestinian Authority honored the murderers.

Outside Israel, there was little public outrage and few condemnations.

Am I really the first commentator? Goodness. Anyway, that portrait is wonderful ... and heartbreaking. I may have to print it out on the photoprinter. Is it your work? If so, may I have your permission to post it on my blog at some point (with proper credit, of course)?
BTW, have you checked out my new blog?

Hi Jheka, Thanks for your comment! Your blog is great, I like the flow of images, prose, and poetry. I will link you it in my links.

Yes, feel free to use the image with a link. The post has a credit/link to the original photos, so you can see what my contribution was (basically I took the original photos and did color desatuation/tint, selective blur/sharpen, and selective lightening/darkening.) See my "about" link for tech. details.

I'm using images from a government web site so I'm assuming they are in the public domain.
